Salt Lake City IN Magazine 01.04.07:
When the owner's of Simply Home outgrew their space at 1300 S. and 900 E. they moved a few blocks south and opened a bright blue shop called Abode. The store's colorful exterior is the perfect wrapping for its conents: a cheery and eclectic mix of household odds and ends--the kind of stuff that makes you want to be a kid again; like the fire engine red record player ($50) jumbled among exotic pieces like a fancy "China Hutch" ($650). It's a mix they like to call "fun, funky, and functional."
Along with featuring the artwork of local artists (paintings by Salt Laker Maggie Willis are currently on display), Abode also keeps an "architectural" room for things like vintage doorknobs and hinges, old crate's, and yesterday's milk crates.
